Our kennel building is a 3-sided pole barn structure sitting on a 4800 square foot concrete pad, 80 feet wide by 60 feet deep. It has a grooming/food-prep/quarantine room that is 20x40 feet. The main kennel runs are 6 feet wide and 40 feet long, with a chain link door in the middle that can be closed either to create two 20 foot runs if needed, or to keep a dog out of an area while it's being cleaned. There is also a puppy run that consists of two 6x20 runs with a door in the middle that can be opened or closed. We usually block off the bottom part so mom can hop over and get away from the pups for a bit. There is also a 10x10 kennel in the grooming room that can be used for either isolation/quarantine purposes, or that can be used to hold a dog while we're bathing and grooming several dogs at a time.
